Background

In January 2024, cross-sector leaders participated in a visioning process to inform the development of a strategic vision designed to guide the collective action of Otsego County's START Collaborative. Participants strongly agreed that a healthy, connected county with thriving residents would require a foundation for effective collaboration-where diverse cross-sector organizations and residents work together to createaccessible, equitable opportunities and services, and foster healthy
community conditions.

Additionally, residents provided feedback, shared their lived experiences, and identified challenges in meeting their basic needs. With this insight, feedback, and collaborative effort, the START Collaborative established its mission and vision statements.

Otsego County is a healthy, connected community where all residents can thrive, supported by equitable opportunities, accessible services, and strong community conditions.

Mission

The START Collaborative brings together residents and cross-sector partners to improve health, stability, and quality of life. We work collectively to build connections, coordinate services, and strengthen the foundation for a thriving community.
